Hogeye Navvy has been a chantey-singing band for more than 35 years, long before some folks recently discovered chanteys of the tall ships. Their expanded repertoire includes songs of Ireland, the UK, and North America in traditional styles, as well as instrumental music. Their music spotlights a keen interest in historical re-enactment of 18th century American colonial days, through that of the 19th century.
The band has toured in Scotland and twice in Ireland, and performed for numerous Irish, Scottish, and tall ships festivals. Hogeye Navvy performs for historical re-enactment events, private events, public concerts, church services, and even wedding receptions! They perform every 1st Friday of the month at The Aristocrat Restaurant in Indianapolis IN.
The band’s current line up features Garry Farren on vocals and bodhran, Mac Bellner on vocals and guitar, Leslie Selden on fiddle, and Dmitri Alano on Irish flute, penny whistle, and Highland bagpipes.
